3-5 years of diversified peri-operative experience with both scrubbing and/or circulating proficiency required.
RN: Active Idaho RN license required; BSN Preferred, CNOR Preferred. BLS, ACLS, and PALS

RNFA Certification required.

Required Skills
Firm knowledge and application of aseptic technique, surgical principles, procedures, and instrumentation, suturing, tissue handling, hemostasis.
Demonstrates understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and bacteriology.
Ability to organize work, maintain good interpersonal relationships, function under stress, and to work under supervision.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify the needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
This knowledge and skills may be acquired through education, training, and experience.
Bases knowledge on evidence and standards based practice.

Functional Demands:
Population Served
Neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric.
Physical Demands
Requires frequent standing, walking, and bending.
Frequent lifting of instruments, equipment, supplies, and patients (up to 40 pounds).
NOTE: On occasion, individuals may be required to lift weight in excess of 40 pounds. Individuals who may lift greater than or equal to 40 pounds will be encouraged to use available back support systems, correct body mechanics, and all equipment/personnel available to prevent back injury.
Occasionally requires working long hours without rest on emergency call, or in times of great census.
Environmental Conditions:
Works indoors in heated/air-conditioned surgical suite.
Normal working hours will be scheduled in accordance to case load and staff requirements. Hours and shifts based on hospital need.
Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne disease and other infectious diseases.
Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
Will be exposed to patient elements ie: Accidents, injuries, illnesses.
Subject to varying and unpredictable situations potentially violent or angry patients, family emergencies, and crisis situations.
Frequently required to function competently with multiple demands or tasks.
Exposure to diseases and disease-producing organisms, possible caustic gases or chemicals, and radiation (Category I).
